Symptom
You migrate a task list and notice that the titles or your list items are replaced by the item ID at the destination.
Details
Your list items are migrated correctly. The issue is that Microsoft 365 displays the ID instead of the title when using the Modern Experience in your task list.
Solution
You can change the List experience of your list from Modern experience to Classic experience with these steps:
- In ShareGate Desktop, go to Explorer.
- Connect to your Microsoft 365 site collection or tenant if it is not already connected.
- Navigate to the site that contains the affected list(s).
- Select the list.
- In the Quick actions menu at the right, scroll down and find List experience.
- Click on Modern experience and change it to Classic experience.
The titles should be back when you return to the list in SharePoint.

And if we then turn back to modern experience again the problem is still there, so this is not really a solution for users that want the new experience. Any other tips?

Hi Andy,
We investigated the issue and it is not an issue with the migration. The item is the same in the destination, but somehow the Modern Experience shows the ID instead.
Unfortunately, it is a display issue in Office 365 and the only workaround we were able to find was to use the classic experience for that list.
We will gladly update this article as soon as we have an alternative solution.
Allright good to know. I did not find a uservoice for it, but this one comes closest
