Please find a way to cancel jobs if they are hung.  Green indicator stats 93% complete, 18hrs later still 93% complete.  Only incremental migration of 2 days worth of data, roughly 12 items to update.  Rebooting machine now to see if it stops... AND its still going after reboot.  That is resilient.

Hey David! Our product team is looking into this issue, and we're hoping to find a solution to ease the user experience. I saw that in the meantime, the comment thread for Microsoft Azure Import helped you with the issue.

    Thanks for your feedback!

    Any update on this?

I have two cancelled tasks that won't clear out. I even uninstalled/reinstalled the software and they're still there :)

    Dear Alex,

I'm having the same problem. Just autoupdate ShareGate to 11.0.4, but it did not solve it.

Still have a hanging tasks since about 36 hours, which stays also after a reboot.

    Please help here!

    Thanks, Chris

After trying all other options, Support offered the follow advice which worked:

    1. Export all reports you need to retain (you will lose all records in "Tasks", so get what you need before you start)

    2. Close down ShareGate (and make sure to exit out of tray)

    3. Go to "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\" and rename the "ShareGate" folder to "ShareGate-OLD"

    4. Open ShareGate again - this will act like a fresh installation, so have your product key available!

    Hi Joe,

Thank you for sharing. It is a great way to restore the application to its original state and get rid of stuck tasks.

If you wish to avoid loosing all your connections and having to enter your product key there is a way to only clear the tasks.

    • Close ShareGate Desktop (Make sure you exit ShareGate Desktop from the application tray).
    • Rename the applogs folder (C:\Users[yourusername]\AppData\Local\sharegate\userdata\) to applogs_Backup (this will preserve your data if you need to get it back).
    • Launch ShareGate Desktop again.

When you launch the app, all your tasks will be cleared and you will not have to enter your product key again.

I'm currently using 12.2.4. I canceled a task over 15 minutes ago and still says "Canceling..." with a little spinning orange circle.

Why does this take so long to cancel? I can't even quit the desktop app. I get this if I try to quit the app:

    Cannot exit application

You cannot exit the application when operations are in progres. Please cancel operations manually or allow them to finish before exiting.

    Hi Jeffrey,

The application will try to finish the last operation it was doing in the background when you cancel your task. It's built this way to avoid an in-between task to "break" something in your destination.

You can Force Quit the app without much risk. I have yet to see a case where this had an impact since you can always re-migrate your content.

All the best, and stay safe!
