This article contains a note. Part of this note says "If there's no progress over 24 hours, there could be an issue with the queue"

I suggest to modify the tool to have a more friendly message and don't get stuck waiting for 24 hours.

Thank you for your feedback, Fernando!

I'll forward the suggestion on a friendlier message to our product team. Feel free to submit it on UserVoice as well, this will allow other users to vote on it, which helps the product team decide what to prioritize in future releases.

Is it possible to stop/delete a job that is hanging at 97%?  I've been unable to get rid of a stale task for over a week.

    Hello Ryan,

You can stop a running job at any time by going into the Tasks menu, hovering your mouse over the progress circle of the running job, and clicking the Cancel Task icon.

    Hope it helps!

    Thanks Alex!

Since the job was actually completed through Azure and it was just a matter of the Sharegate app hanging onto a task that wouldn't ever complete (I started it over a month ago), I just needed to remove the C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Sharegate\userdata\applogs folder and restart the app.

    Problem solved!

@Ryan Gardner Good Job, I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what to delete to get this job out of my task view.  I am going to document that removing applogs removes all tasks. Also, this clears up all the space ShareGate is using up even though there were no tasks in view. C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Sharegate\userdata\applogs

We've been stuck at 100% for almost 24 hours.  If I kill this task, what happens?  This job took a long time to run so I really don't want to have to start over.  Can I still get to the migration report if I cancel the task?

    Thanks.

    Hello David,

I'll try to guide you on this! Before killing the task, you can go into the Tasks menu (on the lower left side of the app) to check the migration report - it's available even as the task progresses.

If you cancel the job you will still have access to the migration report progress up until the job was canceled.

Unfortunately if the app does not allow you to cancel the job, and you proceed to remove the C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Sharegate\userdata\applogs folder and restart the app, the progress bar will finally disappear, but you will lose all data from the Tasks menu - including the migration report.

See How do I cancel a running task? for more info.

You will not have to restart the job from scratch either way, as canceling the task does not undo any progress made. You can select how you want the app to treat items that exist at the destination through the operation mode in your Copy options

Hope that helps! If you need any further assistance, you can contact our Support team who will be happy to guide you.
