Importing from your Microsoft Azure Storage account happens when you run a migration to Microsoft 365 while using Insane Mode. Enabling this option creates a link between ShareGate Desktop and the Azure storage account, which will significantly speed up your migration time.
Your data, while in Azure, is in blob storage, which allows for tons of data to be stored safely and moved quickly. Please note that Microsoft Azure uses AES CBC 256 Standard encryption. AES encryption is such a successful method that it is used by some of the world's largest companies to protect their data. With AES encryption, both the sender and the receiver of the data must have the same key in order to decrypt and read data.
The necessary structure will be created at your destination environment. Once the data from the source (data and metadata only) is uploaded to the Azure storage blob, Microsoft Microsoft 365 will import the data to the destination. As usual, ShareGate Desktop will report any errors or warnings while Microsoft 365 is importing the data, should they occur.
All progress is tracked in your migration report.
Note: If you see a progress bar that appears to be frozen, it does not always mean that your migration job is not progressing. Sometimes ShareGate Desktop loses or cannot make a connection with Azure. We recommend checking your network to make sure ShareGate Desktop is able to properly communicate with Microsoft 365. If there's no progress over 24 hours, there could be an issue with the queue. You can try reducing your migration scope before re-attempting the operation (even though the green bar is still there).
