Access all completed management tasks, filter results to easily find the date range you are looking for, and free space on your disk by deleting old items.
All Tasks will keep the history for the following task types:
- All reports (i.e. Permissions Matrix, External Sharing, Audit, etc)
- Security (i.e. Add Permission, Remove Permissions, Check Permissions, etc)
- Source Analysis (File Share and Sharepoint & Microsoft 365)
- Migrations (migration reports)
- Restructure (Promote reports)
Note: Tasks is not a live report. In order to make sure you are viewing the most up-to-date results, click the refresh icon.

Access All Tasks
Click Tasks in the bottom left menu.
Rows
Task: The name and location of the task performed.
Type: The type of task that was performed.
Details: The number of items processed, and the number of successes, warnings, or errors requiring attention.
Start Date/End Date: The date the task was started, and the date the task was completed on.
Session ID: This is the unique ID associated to the session which you can give to our Support team should you need to log an issue associated to the task.
Deleting Tasks
Deleting tasks allows you to free up space on the disk. You can see how many megabytes (MB) ShareGate Desktop is using at the bottom of the screen. Deleting a task is permanent, you cannot recover it once you have completed the action.
To delete a task:
- Select the task or tasks you wish to delete by clicking on the checkbox in the first row (click on the first checkbox at the top left corner of the table to select all the tasks on the page).
- Click
on the bottom right.
- You will be prompted to confirm that you would like to permanently delete the task(s). Click Delete to continue.
- Your tasks will now be gone from the All Tasks screen.
Note: You can only delete the tasks that are displayed in the Tasks screen. If you have a lot of tasks to delete, you can set Items per page to 500 at the bottom right corner so you can delete more tasks at once.
Exporting Tasks
- Select the task or tasks you want to export by clicking on the checkbox in the first row.
- Click
on the top right.
- You can save the file format as .csv or .xlsx.
Note: if you select multiple tasks you will get a prompt when exporting them. You can decide if you want to export all the reports individually, or if you want to merge your migration reports. You can also decide if you want to export all your tasks as .csv or .xlsx.
Filter by Date
You can filter your tasks by date.
- Click on Start date to indicate the beginning date.
- Click on End date to indicate ending date.
Your results will automatically filter, and only tasks that were completed within that date range will display.
Filter
You can filter by Status or Type.
- Click Filter.
- Select your preferred filter options.
- Click Apply Filter.
When you would like to return to the full list of tasks:
- Click Filter.
- Uncheck your option or click Clear to remove all selections.
- Click Apply Filter.
