When copying a workflow 2013 with an initiation and/or association form, one of the following messages is displayed:
The initiation form linked with the workflow 'workflow name' could not be copied. The default workflow initiation form will be used instead.
The association form linked with the workflow 'workflow name' could not be copied. The default workflow association form will be used instead.
This issue generally occurs for one of those reasons:
- The initiation or association form linked with your workflow is stored in a document library.
- The SharePoint server has configuration issues (corrupted workflow, insufficient disk space, etc.).
If your initiation or association form is stored in a document library, you can resolve this issue by migrating the document library into your destination site. Upon re-executing your workflows, the correct forms should be displayed.
If the form does not reside in a document library, it means that some configuration issues prevented it from being copied. You can first validate that the destination server has sufficient disk space. Also, you can make sure that the workflow at your source is not corrupted by republishing the workflow.
