While copying files, Sharegate displays the following message:
Unable to copy your file. This file type is blocked by SharePoint due to security risks.
- Any error code ending in -010
This message is displayed when the destination or source SharePoint server blocks the copy of a file because it has a restricted extension. This occurs because SharePoint has a built-in list of file extensions which might pose a security risk for your SharePoint environment.
You can either modify the extension of the source file or modify the list of blocked extensions at the destination (for on-premises environments only).
To add or remove blocked file types using Central Administration:
Verify that you have the correct administrative credentials (you must be a Farm Administrator on the server).
In Central Administration, click Security.
On the Security page, in the General Security section, click Define blocked file types.
Go to the Web Application menu.
Click Change Web Application.
Select a web application.
Do one of the following:
To block an additional file type, scroll to the bottom of the Type each file extension on a separate line text box, and type the file extension you want to block, and then click OK.
To stop blocking a file type, select a file type from the list, press the delete key, and then click OK.
